Tuff is a miner with a violent fear of anything related to space and floating, to the point of getting sick just by thinking about it. This is a great inconvenience to the practice of their work as the great depth of the cave where they mine ore makes it near gravityless, and they are next to the Zero-G section of the cave, where future astronauts come to train (and taunt them) on a daily basis.

Dirt

• "Some fresh dirt? Not much happening down here lately. Let me think...
  Come to think of it, Tektite saw something crash outside of the village crater earlier. That's new and different."
  • >Oh, hey. How 'bout that.
    • "Yeah, they were on firewatch with the old scout launcher and saw smoke, so they went to check it out. “Safety first,” right?
      ...No, I'm kidding. I said that to Tektite once. Pretty rude how long they laughed for, if you ask me."
  • >Is anything on fire?
    • "Probably on a little. Tektite checked out the crash site with the old firewatch scout launcher and saw smoke, so they headed over to stamp out any leftover fires.
      Well, I better get back to work. This ore's not going to mine itself, you know."

Trivia

• Tektite figures Tuff can help them haul the old scout launcher out to Youngbark Crater to look inside the Dark Bramble seed.
• As all Hearthians they are named after minerals. Tuff is a type of rock made of volcanic ash ejected from a vent during a volcanic eruption.
